ICT (Inner Circle Trader) concepts have become popular largely because they give retail traders a language for describing institutional-style price behaviour. Two terms come up constantly: order blocks and fair value gaps.
Order Blocks
An order block is typically the last candle in the opposite direction before a strong, decisive move. The idea is that large orders were placed in that zone, and price may return to it later to "fill" remaining orders before continuing in the original direction.
Fair Value Gaps
A fair value gap (FVG) is a three-candle pattern where the first and third candles don't overlap, leaving a visible imbalance on the chart. Price often — though not always — revisits this gap before continuing its move, which traders use as a potential entry zone.
Neither concept works in isolation. Our ICT, SMC & CRT Advanced Concepts course teaches how to combine order blocks and FVGs with market structure and liquidity context, rather than trading them as standalone signals.
